Description

Located 1 hour and 15 minutes from San José and only 20 minutes from Jaco, this tour is one of the best for bird watching in Costa Rica.

Why are we the specialists on this tour? We have local guides with many years of experience and extensive knowledge. Our guide will take you through wonderful and vibrant trails in this park where you can appreciate the richness of the Costa Rican flora and fauna.

This park is the only one in Central America that protects a transition forest between the dry zone in the north and the humid zone in the south, which is very rich and varied in flora with more than 1,400 species of plants. This park has around 300 species of birds among which are the famous Red Macaw, the colorful toucans and you can also find 4 species of Manakin (Red Head, Blue Crown, Long Tail and Orange Collar Manakin) and many more species.

We can also find several mammals including some species of monkeys such as the white-faced monkey, the howler monkey and the spider monkey.

In Carara National Park our local guides will take you to admire the strange and wonderful white bats.

In this beautiful park there are two trails: El Sendero Aráceas and Laguna Meandrica that are perfect to see the flora and fauna.

Carara has a universal access road so that blind people, with physical disabilities (wheelchair or walker) can move easily and comfortably, complying with the 7600 law.

During the dry season, Carara becomes an oasis of freshness and greenery. To the northeast of the park, seasonal floods from the Rio Grande de Tárcoles form many wetlands. The largest of these areas is 600 meters long, 40 meters wide, and 2 meters deep. These wetlands are found in the habitat of waterfowl and wading birds, as well as many reptiles and amphibians.

Due to its location, after completing the tour in the Carara National Park, it is very easy to access other tourist areas, such as beautiful beaches of the Central Pacific.
